Real estate myths are time and again passed around among buyers
and sellers. A number of them have some truth while others are out-and-out
false. Experts from Radiant Structures say that if every buyer and seller took
real estate myths to heart, then none of them would be able to seal any real
estate deal. Read on to know a few real estate myths that hold no truth:
• “It is economical to hire agents who offer discount on
their services”
You hire your agent due to his experience, his negotiating
skills, and his excellent track record. Topmost agents do not offer any
discount on their services because they don’t have to do so in order to get
work. They are already so established that people would pay their fee without
asking for any discount. So if an agent offers you discount on his services
then you must be careful and do a thorough check of his work record.
• “Brokers and agents want you to pay a higher sale price in
order get a higher commission”
Most of the real estate agents are honest professionals who
take their work seriously. This is their bread and butter so they do not want
to tarnish their image by indulging in wrong practices. Yes there might be a
few greedy agents who work unethically but they can be avoided by being a bit
alert and careful!
• “spring is the best time to sell.”
Yes a number of homes do get sold out during the spring
season but it doesn’t mean that this is necessarily the best time to sell. Most
people just don’t want to deal with the selling process in the winter while
others have a tendency to be under the impression that there aren’t adequate
buyers during that time. The truth is, with fewer inventories during the
winter, there are more buyers than there are listings and that puts the seller
in a great position.
